Metropolitan Police And Mr. David Irving
EDM number 451 in 1992-93, proposed by Brian Wilson on 07/07/1992.
That this House believes that an explanation is due from the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis as to why Mr David Irving, the Nazi apologist, retained by the Sunday Times, was accorded a police escort at Heathrow Airport en route to a "revisionist seminar" on the Holocaust, and why he arrived at the seminar in an unmarked police car; and believes that the duty of the police is to protect society from neo-Nazis, rather than to treat them like VIPs.
