Early Day Motions And Defamation;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 424A1 in 1992-93, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 09/07/1992.

leave out from 'procedure' to end and add 'to criticise EDM 384 when the attempted rebuttal of the contents of that motion by John Birt, the Director-General Designate of the BBC, contained in his open letter to the honourable Member for Cardiff West of 1st July concerning his career relationship with David Frost, has only served to raise further doubts about his integrity being equal to the task of running the BBC, since his assertion that Mr. Frost remained 'composed' during the interview by Mr.Birt in the Algonquin Hotel, Manhattan, New York, is directly contradicted by first-hand eye witness accounts, both verbal and written given to the honourable Member for Cardiff West. that Mr. Frost broke down and cried, since his other assertion that the pertinent World in Action programme on David Frost was never intended to be an expose is also directly contradicted by other World in Action staff engaged in the programme; and further notes that the arrangements for the Frost Programme to transfer to the BBC involves unique terms for Mr. Frost and not the BBC to profit from its onward sale to BSkyB.'.

This is a ammendment to 424.

This motion has been signed by a total of 1 MPs.
