Future Use Of County Hall (No.2)

EDM number 401 in 1992-93, proposed by Alex Carlile on 02/07/1992.

That this House notes that the doubt surrounding the Shirayama Corporation's bid for County Hall clears the way for ownership by the London School of Economics; believes that the grand architecture of County hall would more justly represent the fine academic reputation of the LSE than the cramped quarters in Houghton Street where it resides currently; further believes that County Hall offers more space and thus more opportunities for expanded computer and research facilities made available to outside users; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to renew its commitment to higher education by offering the London School of Economics a new and more worthy home.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
