Parliamentary Scrutiny Of The Security Services

EDM number 367 in 1992-93, proposed by David Winnick on 29/06/1992.

That this House notes the reports which have appeared in the Press that a limited form of parliamentary accountability of the security services has apparently been agreed to by the Government; is of the view however, that full accountability is needed and that any committee duly set up to oversee the functions of the security services should not be limited to senior Privy Councillors but include other honourable Members as well.
