Maternity Rights For All Women

That this House recognises that large numbers of women lose out on maternity rights because of low earnings or by failing to meet the prohibitive service qualification and that, despite the change in economic activity, there has been no change in maternity rights since their introduction in Britain; welcomes the EEC proposals on maternity rights which will give rights to women with less than two years' service for any employer; and calls for women in the above category to receive the 14 weeks at full pay as a statutory right for all women.
