Ban On Cyclamates
EDM number 317 in 1992-93, proposed by Thomas Graham on 23/06/1992.
That this House is concerned that changes in the EC food regulations will allow a further 100 food additives to be used in Britain and also that artificial sweeteners may be listed by E number only; notes that of particular concern is that cyclamates, an artificial sweetener, at present banned in Britain because it is a carcinogen, will be allowed; and calls on the Government to protect the people of Britain, keep the ban on cyclamates and list all sweeteners by name.
This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
