Industrial Relations In At&t
EDM number 289 in 1992-93, proposed by Peter Hain on 18/06/1992.
That this House condemns the industrial relations policy currently being pursued by AT&T, including use of non-union subsidiaries to expand its activities and attacks on the rights of members of the Communications Workers of America, which are contrary to all international recognised standards; and noting that the company is refusing to negotiate meaningful security for its employees; and that it is insisting that retired workers should pay for their own health care and is blocking resolution by negotiation of the current dispute with the CWA over wages, pensions, training and electronic monitoring, calls on Her Majesty's Government to declare AT&T an unwelcome operator in the European Community until it adopts civilised employee relations.
