International Film Festival In Sarajevo

That this House believes that a cultural and artistic blockade can be as dispiriting and demoralizing as a material siege; deplores the Government's blockade of a visit by a group of British, German and Irish actors and film producers to the International Film Festival in Sarajevo, which opened on 23rd October; applauds the people of Sarajevo for their determination to sustain artistic and cultural life under the most appalling conditions; and calls upon the Government to press for the opening of a cultural corridor which will facilitate the exchange of artists and others between Sarajevo and the outside world.
