Conservative Electoral Defeats

That this House congratulates the honourable Member for Teignbridge on his appointment as Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party with special responsibility for attempting to halt the collapse of his party's support in the South West; and notes that, following the unprecedented swing to the Liberal Democrats at Christchurch, his tactics have now secured another comparable victory for the Liberal Democrats in the hitherto safe Conservative ward of Countesswear and Topsham for Devon County Council.
