Summer Time In Winter In Scotland

EDM number 2518 in 1992-93, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 26/10/1993.

That this House, knowing that there is no agricultural or employment legislation governing voluntarily delayed starting times for milking dairy cows or for construction activity, calls on farmers and builders in Scotland to recognise the positive advantages for Scots that will be the consequences of the adoption of carrying summer time through the winter; and recognises that worthwhile activity will increase, casualties will reduce in numbers and employment will expand.
