Daylight Saving;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 2481A1 in 1992-93, proposed by John Home Robertson on 25/10/1993.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'has vivid memories of the long dark mornings on the last occasion when summer time was extended into the winter, from 1968 to 1971; notes that this system would mean that the sun would not rise until 10 a.m. in midwinter in parts of Scotland; recognises that accidents are more likely to occur with cold sleepy schoolchildren and commuters on the roads on dark frosty mornings; notes that businesses in the United States of America have no difficulty in coping with five time zones; respectfully acknowledges that this House has no power to amend the natural law of the solar system and that it is absurd to put Britain into the same time zone as Albania and Poland; and calls on the Government to reject the proposal to repeat this dangerous experiment.'.

This is a ammendment to 2481.
