Resignation Of Chief Executive Of Welsh Development Agency
EDM number 2452 in 1992-93, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 18/10/1993.
That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to respond positively to the Welsh Development Agency's crisis Board meeting of Monday 18th October, and the resignation of its ú70,000 a year Chief Executive Philip Head by restoring the Agency to its proper role as the engine room of Welsh economic regeneration and job creation by hauling the Agency back to full political and financial respectability following the criticisms of its conduct by the Committeeof Public Accounts, and by uprooting the pervasive culture of arrogance that had developed in the Agency under its previous Chairman Dr Gwyn Jones, who could not distinguish between promoting himself and promoting Wales as a location for industrial investment, the Agency's true role in Wales's economic life.
