London Broadcasting Corporation

EDM number 2437 in 1992-93, proposed by Piara S Khabra on 18/10/1993.

That this House notes with dismay the decision of the Radio Authority not to renew the licence for the London Broadcasting Corporation; further notes that the London Broadcasting Corporation is a most popular station listened to by over two million people within the Greater London area who have expressed their overwhelming support and surprise at the decision; and urges Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the London Broadcasting Corporation is able to continue to be heard on the airways and to support its application for a licence to broadcast on a new FM frequency to be created in 1994.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
