That this House notes that Mr Alexander Schultz of 7 Apple Garth, Carr Hall, Barrowford, Nelson, Lancashire, is shown in Companies House records as a director and or shareholder of Baftonhurst Ltd, Chainmaster Ltd, Dawson Contractors(Wallasey) Ltd, Broadbright Ltd and Amberfine Ltd; Notes that each of these companies has been in serious financial difficulties, that some are now being wound up and that, for example, the auditors of the accounts of Baftonhurst Ltd reported on 9th June 1992 that the company had not maintained proper accounting records and that acordingly they had been unable to substantiate expenditure of ú537,471 charged to the profit and loss account; notes that the Liquidator of Broadbright Ltd, MrWilson Henry, Chartered Accountant, has made serious accusations of fraud by Mr Schultz to the Department of Trade and Industry; notes that a number of traders in East Lancashire claim they are owed thousands of pounds by Mr Schultz and cpmpanies under his control, and that these persons include Mr Jack Livesey, of 235 Skipton Road, Colne, Lancashire and Mr P.P. Hacking, of 27 Arnside Crescent, Blackburn; and therefore calls upon the President of the Board of Trade to investigate Mr Schultz and the companies he has controlled, to ascertain whether there have been any breaches by him of the Companies Act or the criminal law.
