EDM number 2425 in 1992-93, proposed by John Fraser on 26/07/1993.
That this House calls upon Her Majesty's Government to introduce, as a matter of urgency, legislation to reform the inequitable Law of Privity of Contract and Estate; recognises that businesses both large and small have fallen victim to substantial demands from defaulting tenants; supports the measures to reform the law; and calls upon the Lord Chancellor's Department to bring forward legislation in the next session.
