Northumberland Womens Aid Refuge
EDM number 2397 in 1992-93, proposed by Jack Thompson on 22/07/1993.
That this House expresses its deep concern that the refuge for women and children run by Northumberland Women's Aid is threatened with closure because of lack of funds; believes victims of domestic violence should receive the support and temporary accommodation not provided anywhere else in the county; notes that it has helped 383 women and 757 children at serious risk; and urges that it be recognized by the Government as a community service which should be financially supported.
This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
