WORK OF 'KIDS MOVING ON', NEWCASTLE

That this House welcomes the detailed research work embodied in 'Young People and Community Care Grants' and 'Barriers to Employment and Training' by Newcastle based 'Kids Moving On'; recognises the valuable work carried out by 'Kids Moving On' in helping young people, disadvantaged by violence and abuse either at home or in local authority care, to build independent lives; and calls for a fairer system of community care grants to meet the needs of young people as well as for help and resources to overcome disrupted schooling and meaningful, high-quality YT provision.
