That this House supports the efforts underway to secure the future of the 400 training places and the 40 full time jobs provided in South-East Wales until its insolvency on Friday, 16th July by Commercial and Industrial Training Services, by refloating the company as Premier Training Services; urges the training and enterprise councils of Mid Glamorgan, Gwent and South Glamorgan to renew the contracts held by CITS; notes yet again this further evidence of the appalling mishandling of large sums of public money of CITS's long-standing chairman Sir Donald Walters in presiding over the collapse of the company with debts of ú700,000 inclusive of ú16,000 in missing funds from pension contributions including deductions from employees' wages, national insurance and income tax; calls on the Charity Commissioners to investigate Sir Donald's chairmanship of this company as a registered charity; and calls on Sir Donald to resign from his other public offices as chairman of Llandough Hospital NHS Trust, the Council of University College, Cardiff and the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action.
