Area Cost Adjustment

That this House endorses the submission of the 27 counties, and the resolution of the Association of County Councils of 22nd June, seeking a fairer calculation of area cost adjustment; and, while recognising the necessity for the ACA in so far as London weightings are concerned, urges the Government to reverse the over-compensation to South-Eastern local authorities of some Ãº281 million in order to provide some relief to hard-pressed authorities in the rest of the country.
