SIR SIMON GOURLAY'S COMMENTS ON AGRICULTURE
EDM number 2257 in 1992-93, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 05/07/1993.
That this House congratulates Sir Simon Gourlay, the former President of the National Farmers Union, for his courage and leadership in deploring as crazy the scale of agricultural support within the EC, in particular his condemnation of the terminal insanity of the so-called CAP reforms of 1993; welcomes his conclusion that there is no realistic way in which the grotesque policy will ever be reformed in a meaningful way; and urges Her Majesty's Government to study with care the conclusions of a respected leader of the farming community.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
