Local Government Commission (No 2)

EDM number 2194 in 1992-93, proposed by Colin Pickthall on 22/06/1993.

That this House believes that the Local Government Commission recommendations are inconsistent and incoherent, are creating as many problems as they will solve, will not make significant cost savings and are unlikely to satisfy most local aspirations, and that the Commission's work should be suspended until a set of broadly acceptable criteria for the lasting future shape of English local government can be formulated.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
