Staythorpe C Gas Power Station

EDM number 2173 in 1992-93, proposed by Alan Meale on 16/06/1993.

That this House condemns the decision made by the Department of Trade and Industry to allow National Power to build Staythorpe C gas-fired power station; recognises that this decision will result in the closure of at least two coal-fired power stations and at least four collieries within the Nottinghamshire coalfield area; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to instruct National Power to change its decision on this as a matter of urgency.
