New Zealand War Widows
EDM number 2161 in 1992-93, proposed by John Butcher on 15/06/1993.
That this House urges Her Majesty's Government to top up the value of the New Zealand war widow's pension received by some 38 war widows resident in the United Kingdom to a level which would give parity with the British war widow's pension, bearing in mind the fact that much of the increase would be offset by a reduction in income support and that the total cost of this measure would probably be less than ú100,000 per annum and would gradually reduce with the passing of time.
This motion has been signed by a total of 86 MPs.
