Report Of The Opsahl Commission On Northern Ireland

That this House welcomes the publication on 9th June in Belfast of the Opsahl report on ways forward for Northern Ireland, which has been compiled by Initiative 92's independent commission, in the light of submissions made from all segments of society; urges the Government to respond to this innovative exercise by considering seriously both the Commission's recommendations and also the wide range of ideas contained in the inquiry's report; and further welcomes the launch of the report by Commission members, Professor Opsahl and Padraig O'Malley in Committee Room 20 at 3.30 p.m. on 10th June.
