Sale Of St Bartholomews Hospital

EDM number 2085 in 1992-93, proposed by Brian Sedgemore on 25/05/1993.

That this House notes with alarm that, with the encouragement of the Government, a number of firms, including Lonrho, have expressed an interest in buying into St. Bartholomew's Hosptial as the first stage towards privatising it; and believes that this shows that the National Health Service is not safe in the Government's hands.
