Threatened Deportation Of Nora Osei-Kyermeh
EDM number 2066 in 1992-93, proposed by Brian Sedgemore on 24/05/1993.
That this House calls on the Secretary of State for the Home Department to reconsider his decision to deport Nora Osei-Kyermeh; notes that Ms Osei-Kyermeh has lived in Britain for 10 years and has been divorced by one husband and abandoned by another; further notes that Ms Osei-Kyermeh has two children, both born in this country, aged three years and one year and that she provides their only support; and is aware that Ms Osei-Kyermeh was a hard working responsible citizen in the employ of Hackney Council and that the Council in addition to many other groups and individuals are calling on the Home Secretary to reverse his decision to deport her on the grounds that the decision is harsh, oppressive and contrary to natural justice.
