Bosanski Brod

EDM number 2018 in 1992-93, proposed by Robert N Wareing on 14/05/1993.

That this House was appalled to hear of the mass grave, witnessed by four honourable Members, at Bosanski Brod in Bosnia-Herzegovina where over forty people, believed to be Bosnian Serbs, were murdered by Croatian extremists who invaded the area in September 1991 and March 1992 when Bosnia-Herzegovina was still recognised by the international community as being part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; is alarmed that many of the Croats wear the symbols of the wartime Ustashe, leaving graffiti on the walls of destroyed houses giving testimony to the fact that they drew their inspiration from those supporters of Hitler's puppet fascist state during the second world war; calls on UNPROFOR and the International Red Cross to carry out a thorough investigation of this war crime; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to demand of President Tudjman that the culprits be found and brought to justice.
