Asil Nadir And The Conduct Of The Lord Chancellor

That this House is concerned about the circumstances surrounding the departure from the United Kingdom of Mr Asil Nadir; was disturbed to see the actions of the Lord Chancellor in crossing over into the illegally occupied part of the island of Cyprus for the explicit purpose of negotiation with a non-recognised power; asks that in future such actions are not repeated; and urges that the Government gives full written account to all honourable Members, of both the Lord Chancellor's recent trip and of the arrangements now in hand to ensure that individuals charged in similar circumstances do not in future leave the jurisdiction in breach of their restrictions.
