Independent On Sunday
EDM number 199 in 1992-93, proposed by Andrew Mackinlay on 08/06/1992.
That this House congratulates the Independent on Sunday for being the only newspaper on 7th June 1992 to put its duty of conveying news and comment on important issues above its aim of maintaining its share of circulation and in so doing avoided publishing trivia and the need to trespass into the personal affairs of the Prince and Princess of Wales; and considers that, against a backdrop of many important, and some traumatic, national and international events, these matters are simply not important nor anyone else's business.
This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
