87th Inter-Parliamentary Conference At Yaounde, 6-11 April 92

That this House congratulates the Inter-Parliamentary Union on holding a successful Conference in Yaounde, Cameroon, between 6th-11th April, and supports the strongly worded Statement of Principles for a Sustainable Planet, adopted in preparation for the UN Conference on Environment and Development; and further supports the resolutions on (i) the organisation and functioning of democracy and the expression of ethnic diversity as a means of ensuring the stability of all states, (ii) the threat of AIDS to world economic growth and political and social stability and (iii) the defence of representative institutions in Peru, adopted unanimously by parliamentary delegates from all over the world.
This motion has been signed by a total of 33 MPs.
