Physiotherapy Services In Manchester
EDM number 1955 in 1992-93, proposed by Dawn Primarolo on 05/05/1993.
That this House is deeply concerned at the failure to provide adequate physiotherapy patient care within the Manchester Central Hospitals and Community Care NHS Trust; is appalled that the current number of physiotherapists is at least 30 per cent. below the required level to meet patient care needs, resulting in the cessation of a physiotherapy service in cardiac rehabilitation, medical outpatients and paediatrics; notes that waiting lists are consequently growing and staff morale is at an all-time low; deplores the fact that Central Manchester Trust management will not agree to do anything to alleviate this crisis situation; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health to intervene immediately guaranteeing the standard of physiotherapy services.
