Leeds-Bradford Electrification
EDM number 195 in 1992-93, proposed by Bob Cryer on 04/06/1992.
That this House believes that the electrification programme of the Leeds-Bradford railway is an urgent priority to ensure high standards of service on these well-used lines; recognises that an important number of highly skilled jobs are involved in the manufacture of the rolling stock in Leeds, and that some ú4 million has already been spent on design and development work relating to the scheme; and urges the Government to ensure that this vital scheme is not jeopardised because of reservations by financial institutions about possible privatisation of the railway system.
This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
