Chinese Medicine And The Nhs

That this House congratulates the BBC on their QED programme of 28th April on the value of traditional Chinese medicine in treating eczema; recognises that traditional Chinese medicine is a valuable base of holistic medicine with over 2,000 years of practical knowledge which i has been built around; acknowledges a growing public interest in holistic, herbal and other complementary medicines which have been poorly recognised in western medical care; urges the Government to support programmes which will widen access to it within the NHS; and specifically calls on Her Majesty's Government to block any proposals which would make traditional herbal remedies illegal.
