That this House condemns the second-class treatment of Wales and Welsh parents by the Secretary of State for Wales evidenced in the Department of Education mass advertising campaign launched on 27th April, in which microscopically printed and bracketed instructions to those living in Wales to write to the Welsh Office is so clearly an afterthought, and with which no invitation is served to parents to ask for the Welsh language version of, How is Your Child Doing at School, although invitations are solicited to ask for it in English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujerati, Chinese, Greek, Turkish and Vietnamese; and believes that this is all too consistent with the shambles over the supply of Ordnance Survey maps to Welsh farmers to permit them to make applications for European Community subsidy by the 14th May deadline and the failure to support in Cabinet the right of the Curriculum Council for Wales to officially disseminate the English Language Curriculum Review proposals to the world of Welsh education.
