Snp And The Committee Of The Regions (No.2)

That this House notes that SNP councillors are being advised by SNP honourable Members in a note dated 11th March that their representatives in Parliament claim they secured an undertaking in writing in return for voting with the Government on 8th March; that this undertaking is described as follows 'the concessions we gained secured the probability of six seats and Alternates for Scotland on the Committee of the Regions'; wonders at the gullibility and naivete of any party which can accept undertakings in writing based only on the probability of anything; believes that if the SNP plot with the Government had succeeded they would have protected the Government's declared desire to appoint their usual placepeople to yet another important committee; and considers that only when the SNP and/or Her Majesty's Government publish the so-called written undertakings or concession in writing SNP councillors, and the wider Scottish public, will be able to judge the depth of the betrayal on 8th March.
