Oft Inquiry Into Business Equipment Contracts

That this House congratulates the Office of Fair Trading for instigating a full-scale inquiry into the photocopier and business equipment industry; welcomes the Parliamentary, CBI and Federation of Small Business support for the campaign to clean up copier contracts; urges the OFT and the DTI to take note of more than 3200 small businesses, large businesses, charities, churches and other corporate bodies who have registered as being caught by unscrupulous copier companies into signing onerous contracts; and welcomes the launch of the all-party parliamentary group to give backing to the campaign.
