Scottish Newspapers And Punctuation

EDM number 1721 in 1992-93, proposed by Norman Hogg on 30/03/1993.

That this House calls upon Scottish newspapers to set a good example in punctuation by describing the SNP 'Cabinet' in parenthesis; draws their attention to the meaning of Cabinet contained in the Concise Oxford Dictionary which it gives as 'the Committee of Senior Ministers responsible for controlling government policy'; and reminds Scottish newspapers that all general election results since 1945 suggest that the SNP has little prospect of fulfilling that function.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
