Slaughter Of Whales

EDM number 1679 in 1992-93, proposed by Andrew Bowden on 24/03/1993.

That this House condemns the cruel and indiscriminate slaughter of thousands of Pilot whales and dolphins by Faroe Islanders; fully supports the campaign of the Environmental Investigation Agency, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society and the World Society for the Protection of Animals to stop the needless killing of these highly intelligent and sensitive animals; and supports a boycott of supermarkets and shops who sell the products of the Faroe Seafood Company Ltd. including Sainsbury's, Tesco's, Gateway and Marks and Spencer.
