U.s. Cavalry Catalogue
EDM number 1675 in 1992-93, proposed by Don Foster on 24/03/1993.
That this House notes with concern the unsolicited mailing of the catalogue 'U.S. Cavalry' to members of the public by a company based in Kentucky, USA; is alarmed at the range of offensive weapons which is available for sale in the catalogue; believes that purchasing of, for example, a 'Chinese Broadsword' with a 27-inch blade or an 'Italian Stiletto' flick knife can only encourage violent and criminal behaviour; further notes that some of the knives are listed as not being legally available in certain countries and states of the USA; believes that many of the items are not legally available for sale in the United Kingdom; and calls on the Government to take measures to prevent the mailing of this catalogue and the importation of such offensive weapons.
