Smoking Policies In Government Departments
EDM number 1550 in 1992-93, proposed by David Nicholson on 09/03/1993.
That this House, while welcoming National No-Smoking Day, Wednesday 10th March, as part of a campaign to encourage smokers voluntarily to give up, deplores sweeping nanny state persecution of smoking minorities such as the wholesale banning of smoking from certain office premises; and congratulates the Secretary of State for the Home Department for his firm stand in opposing such a wholesale ban in his Department's offices in Queen Anne's Gate.
This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
