Womankind Worldwide

That this House congratulates the development agency Womankind on its fourth birthday on 8th March, International Women's Day; applauds its work to empower women in the developing world by helping them overcome problems created by poverty, poor education, ill health and lack of control over their own lives; recognises Womankind's contribution to enriching the lives of women by their programmes such as those in Nicaragua where funds raised have built a hospital and in Ghana where a credit literacy and health programme has benefited 475 women so far; and wishes them continuing and growing success in their efforts to encourage positive change in the lives of women in developing countries.
