That this House calls for the resignation of Derek Richard Marsh, Director of Operations and Marketing at Companies House, from his position as non-executive director of Bovis Homes Ltd., following his recent payment of a fine to Companies House of several hundred pounds as a director of a company involved in the late filing of company accounts; asks why the record of his fine, although paid, has been expunged from the computerised records of Companies House; draws the attention of the President of the Board of Trade to the inevitable conflict of interest created by a very senior manager of Companies House being permitted to sit on the board of a private company that Companies House has in turn to regulate and penalise for non-compliance; and calls for him to set up an inquiry into the practice of senior civil servants in regulatory agencies sitting as non-executive directors of limited companies.
