Profits Of Water Companies
EDM number 148 in 1992-93, proposed by Liz Lynne on 02/06/1992.
That this House notes with concern reports in the Daily Mail that profits made by private water companies from the natural resource of water are likely in the current year to reach ú1.5 billion and that some of these profits have already been set aside for the company chairmen and 480 executives; considers these profits grossly excessive; and believes they should be reflected in reduced charges and the implementation of water conservation schemes, and increased investment in water quality.
