Mirror Group Newspapers

That this House regrets the turmoil in the Mirror Group Newspapers caused by changes in their management structure; disagrees with the attacks on the trade union rights; supports the local N.U.J.'s opposition to the management's attacks on their members; remembers the disgraceful, slanderous attacks by the Daily Mirror on the leadership of the National Union of Mineworkers, encouraged and funded by Robert Maxwell from a spurious fund known as Cyclops; considers that integrity and allegiance to Labour principles is a much more important guarantee of M.G.N.'s political orientation; and calls on the management at M.G.N. to practice those principles both in dealing with their workforce and in the policy of their editorial staff.
