Retention Of Energy Select Committee
EDM number 140 in 1992-93, proposed by Michael Clark on 22/05/1992.
That this House notes the importance of the energy sector to the British economy and to daily life; expresses concern that without an Energy Select Committee, decisions which could have long-term and serious consequences will be taken without proper scrutiny; and therefore calls for the retention of the Energy Select Committee so that it can continue to provide adequate scrutiny of this coherent and clearly defined area of Government activity, rather than rely on a Committee which is primarily interested in other matters to perform this role.
This motion has been signed by a total of 91 MPs.
