Radio 4 On Fm

That this House welcomes the appointment of Liz Forgan as head of BBC Radio and wishes her well in her new role; draws her attention to the importance of Radio 4 and of the high regard and affection that many people feel for it, but urges her to understand the anger felt by moving Radio 4 to FM, particularly by listeners in Europe who will be denied the opportunity of listening to the station; and condemns as arrogant and insensitive the BBC's attitude that if people in Europe wish to listen to Radio 4 then they must spend ú200 to buy receiving equipment to obtain the service from the Astra satellite.
