LONDON'S INFRASTRUCTURE
EDM number 1378 in 1992-93, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 10/02/1993.
That this House deplores the lack of a unified authority to plan London's health, transport and strategic economic needs; recalls that since the abolition of the GLC and the ILEA, London is the world's only capital city with no unified authority and that strategic decisions are left either to Government Departments to make or to a series of quangos; and believes that the growing chaos of transport, housing, health and misery of unemployment requires a radical approach by the establishment of an elected Greater London Authority.
This motion has been signed by a total of 85 MPs.
