Action On Offensive Weapons In Scotland

That this House congratulates the Daily Record on its continued campaign against offensive weapons in Scotland; expresses growing concern about the rising levels of violent crime in communities throughout Scotland; notes that the Scottish Conservative Party promised in its manifesto priority legislation to tackle the growing problem of offensive weapons; further notes that the Government has, once again, failed to keep its promises; believes that it is outrageous but sadly typical that the Government is intent on pushing through policies which were not in its manifesto, such as the privatisation of Scottish water and sewerage services, while clear manifesto commitments remain unfulfilled; and calls upon the Government urgently to find parliamentary time to introduce sensible legislation on offensive weapons.
