Helios Programme
EDM number 1351 in 1992-93, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 09/02/1993.
That this House condemns the decision of the EC Social Affairs Committee to reduce the budget allocation to the HELIOS programme, which funds projects benefiting disabled people, from 8 million ecus to 5.6 million ecus; believes that this decision will have a severe impact upon projects currently funded throughout the EC; further believes that funding for the HELIOS programme is wholly inadequate and should be increased as opposed to being cut back; and calls on the United Kingdom Government to make representations to the EC to ensure that the Social Affairs Committee reverses its decision.
This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
