Concentrations Of Greenhouse Gases
EDM number 134 in 1992-93, proposed by Robert Parry on 21/05/1992.
That this House notes the failure of Her Majesty's Government to inform Parliament of its strategy to reduce concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere; further notes that whenever honourable Members have asked questions to Ministers about reducing concentrations of gases in the atmosphere that have contributed to global warming, replies have always been couched in terms of strategies to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases; declares that this obfuscation of the facts and Her Majesty's Government's failure to address the problem posed by the increases in concentrations in greenhouse gases will be noticed and criticised by many nations attending the Earth Summit; and calls upon the Government to rectify this situation by demonstrating to Parliament that it has a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas concentrations, before the opening of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.
